To give you a "glimpse" of the mountain environment....lots
of photos at alpine.excursion.

The special Alps...
As soon as the ice flows receeded, after the "Ice-age",
men started coming into the Alps to hunt. Traces of temporary
settlements (12000 yrs. BP) have been found in the CHARTREUSE
and VERCORS ranges.
